I just bought an 06' Kicker S15L7 sub, but hooked up to a Fosgate P6002 amp. It says im puttin out around 600 RMS but is rated low. I wanna put out as close to the 1000 RMS the S15L7 has to offer, but i think i need a new amp. Any suggestions??

if that it a dual 4 ohm sub use a mono 2 ohm stable amp, like the zx series amps from kicker or a Alpine 1005, or a Pheonx gold Xeon series or a JL. if dual 2 ohm then a strong 1 ohm stable amp, like the sx 1250.1 or last years kx 1200.1or a JBL 1200.1

Yea its a 2-ohm DVC sub so I was thinking about either the Kicker 1200.1 or the JBL 1200.1 Which do you think will be cheaper and deliver the most bang for the buck

you guys think i'd need a capacitor on my current setup, with the Fosgate P6002 powering it. The headlights dim every time the bass hits hard in my 01 eclipse.

unless that sub is a dual 4ohm speaker the zx series amp will not work for. since the dual 2 and using 1 sub, i actually would put a memphis befopre those other amps....

nicky you don't need a capacitor, what you need is an HO alt. Get an amp that puts out 1000-1300w at 1 ohm. Ed nine 1, Mb quar raa 1000, viper 1200.1, jl 1000/1 pg xenon 1200.1, directed d2400, autotek 1000d, talk to be for that one.

Why wouldn't the Kicker ZX 1000.1 be a good amp for my sub?

cuz your sub is dual 2 ohm and can only be wired at 1 or 4 ohms so it's useless in your case, try getting ED nine1, it's underrated and has 3 year warranty

so overall, you guys think a h/o alt. and lets say a jl 1000/1 would suit my system pretty well? Also would the stock infinity speakers in the eclipse be enough to handle all the power?

yes. the jl will suit it really well. For me, it would be between the 1000/1 or the memphis.

Are you amping ur speakers? or do you mean, will the eclipse HU power my speakers well?...

and ur speakers should be able to do fine. I have just some reg. coaxials up front and i change my HU so that i am fading more toward the front of the car so i can hear the volcals really well.

you think the memphis Power Reference 1000 Watt mono block amp would work with the s15l7 dvc 2-ohm sub
