Ok here's my problem, I dont know ANYTHING about car audio I just know I want some MTX 10" Subs...which I've picked out and I thought it'd be easy finding an amp as long as I knew the RMS power and all but Im running into this Mono, 2-Channel and Multi-Channel amp stuff and I dunno which I need.

Here's a link [ http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=17020 ] to the subs I will be getting so you can tell me what it is Im supposed to be looking for, or so you can show me a link of some examples, but I could REALLY use the help! Oh yeah, Im getting 2...only 2 not 1 or 3 sooo if you can please figure out what I'll need to run 2 of these in my lil Chevy Cavalier! =)

Thanks in advance,
Christi

Also...PLEASE dont reply back telling me these speakers will be shxt because I've made up my mind and all this. ^_^

Wellllll Im looking to spend around $500 all together, not just on an amp, the MTX's together are $198 and Im getting a $155 CD Player. If all together it comes out a bit over $500 no biggy. Thx!

You said SOME MTX subs. Does some mean 2? If so you need a amp that will run at 1 ohm, unless you get a 2 channel and run one channel to each sub. This would be a good 2 channel >> http://cgi.ebay.com/KICKER-SX600-2-2-Ch-Amp-SX-06-DIGITAL-DSP-NEW-600-WATT_W0QQi temZ9741028850QQihZ008QQcategoryZ18796QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Not really sure about a mono amp that does 600 @ 1 ohm but that would be your other option

Lol, you all are retarded. Those subs are SVC 4 ohm. Wired in parallel that will be 2 ohms. Not 1 ohm. Christi, you need an amp that will put out 600 watts @ 2 ohms. Also, you didn't mention a box, which you will need as well. You can build or buy one. Generally, prefab boxes(like best buy/circuit city) suck. As for the amp.
-Alpine MRD-M605 - 600 watts @ 2 ohms.

-Phoenix Gold X600.1 - 600 rms @ 1-4 ohms.

The phoenix gold would be the best choice b/c it fits your budget and it puts out 600 watts at 1-4 ohms. So if you get different subs in the future that have different VC configs, you won't have to worry.

Good luck. If you want to attempt to build a box, I or someone else who is knowledgeable on this web site can help you design one. Most of the girls I now aren't that handy with a jig-saw, but I won't judge,

the pg amp is the best one mentioned so far, you can also look into kx600.1, sx650.1, mtx801d, zx750.1 just to name a few.

Most of those amps^^^^^^^^^^^^will be too expensive. Most prefab boxes are to small and poorly built. They will sound boomy with poor response in the subsonic range.
