Looking for a new HU. I've narrowed down to theses two but can't make a decison. I know the 7998 is kinda outdated but it has so much more functions and adjustments such as (5-band parametric EQ, 6-channel digital time correction, 6-position crossover with variable slope, plus subwoofer phase and level controls). And no other Alpine deck has any of these things.
The DVA-9861 is newer and has dvd playback, there's nothing else that impresses me - unless i've missed something.

If there's any other HU comparable to these two, please educate me. Thanks!

Check out the pioneer 980 and 880 models.

Both units have the time correction options and eq as well as auto calibration.

Neither has dvd playback capability however, and no parametric eq. Both have 16 band graphic eq's. The 880 has separate L/R eq maps. The displays are real nice too. The 980 has multiline display, the 880 I believe is single line.

Never used a pioneer HU before so I have no experiences with it. However it does look pretty good and the wireless bluetooth caught my attention. How does that really work? Do you need any extra devices?
