I just got offered a 180 H.O. alt for $120! Is that a good deal? He also offered to help install it too, which is cool.

He does not know at what it does at idle, he said when they built it, it was 180 amps, at 12V and 200 amps at 14V, that possibel?

Yes, how can that be, I thought alts were made foronly 12V or 14V, how do you run a 12V alt at 14V.
