I currently have two 12" subs in my trunk. I was thinking of adding maybe 1 15" sub. How does that sound? Is it bad due to the different sizes of the subs?

I've never really heard too much about having different sized subs at the same time.

Thanks for any replies.

probably would sound pretty bad, why not just add another 12"?

yea ive heard missmatching subs sounds really horrible, id say either add another 12 or dump the 12's and get 2 15's

Yeah, I have sort of gone to the idea of adding two more 12"s.

So it's conclusive, Two different sized subs=undesirable sound.

How about two different BRANDS of 12"s?

or just sell your current ones, take the money and buy 1 or 2 high quality ones, (assuming your current ones aren't good)

YOU CAN DO IT BUT IT HAS TO BE DNOE RIGHT. tHE 15 WOULD PLAY THE LOWEST OF THE BASS AROUND 40HZ AND DOWN WHILE THE 12S WOULD PLAY POSSIBLY 40HZ UP TO 100HZ. YOU NEED CROSSOVERS FOR THEM AND ALSO YOU WOULD NEED TO MAKE SURE THERE IS NO CANCELLATION. MANY SHOW CARS LIKE THE ALPINE'S HAVE MULTIPLE SUBS BUT THEY SPEND ALOT OF MONEY MAKING THEM SOUND RIGHT, MORE THAN YOU OR I WOULD SPEND. JUST BUY BETTER QUALITY 12'S.
