i'd bet on incorrectly wired sub(s)....i have the A8000t and it has never overheated for me.....gets pretty warm but not hot by any means....also i just got kolossus power/ground and that cut down on the heat tooo....

dont wire it like the pictures at all. i have 2 cvrs, and the a8000t and i had the same problem.

instead, use the manual, and do the series wiring that they have in the picture.

if you do series wiring from the manual, then it will be a 2 ohm load on that amp.

yeah, but the site and the manual are a little different. the subs have black with a white dot, and black. and red with a white dot, and red. i hooked mine up orignially like the wiring diagram on rockford fosgate site, and the amp was overheating and going into protect. then i looked in the manual and hooked them up that way. and it all works good.

anyways, the manual just says exactly what pegs to hook to what.

ok so those white dots mean somthin? they way there hooked up now is the red with the white dot and the black with the white dot are connected and the solid black and red goes and hooks up to my other subs, so thats completley wrong?

thats completely wrong yes.

do this:

red with dot hooked to solid black

black with dot and solid red go to the amp.

do that for both subs, and you will be running a 2 ohm load.
