i am going to get a HU in the near future but until then i am going to use my tape deck that came stock but there is a cassette tape stuck in the deck. i need to take the tape deck out but i am not sure how to get the dash part off so i can get the tape deck out. could anyone help please i have a 1995 GEO PRIZM. thanks
In my opinion the best you can do is to get the new head unit NOW. You gonna waste your time trying to fix the old one. Depending on where you live, you can get a decent basic HU for $100 - $120 and the install $30 - $50 ...
My friend has a Prizm but it's a different year. If it's anything like his, look under the dash, should be some screws or something down there, possibly hidden in the way back around your firewall. Undo those and take those panels off, then you should see more screws and so on until your reach the panel that you remove to take out the deck.
