can you damage a sub without actually blowing it?
im pretty sure ive been clipping my memphiss since i got them like 3-4 month ago. am i damaging them?
if you just 'damage' a sub will it sound bad

yea sending a clipped signal is very bad for the woofer, if it doesn't blow it, it ruins the woofer over time. why do you think you've been clippin them?

its an 1100 watt rated amp, theyve been distorted

btw its sposed to be 1100 watts at 1 ohm, im getting 1243 or something at 1.5 ohms and the gain is all the way up, but there under warranty so whatever idc, is 'damaging' the subs noticeable?

Its destorted cuz the gain is al the way up turn it down and c how it sounds

set the gain properly, or as proberly as you can if you dont have a DMM

what are the subs? what amp?

they are memphis M3's pushed by a memphis 1100d
i know thats why there disorted, i just want to know what can happen to them if i keep running them like that, will they blow, sound worse????
