the lower tuned box will make the woofer control the lower freqenzis better for example a 32 hz box will make a woofer handle a 32 hz just fine witout causin the woofer to think is in free air but if u trow freqs lower than 32 hz it will get outta control and the 35 hz box will sound better at 32 hz and up below the tuning point the woofer will act weird or thinkin is in free air

well i recently experimented with some different tunings with my pipe ported Rs

31hz is really very clean/accurate bass but doesnt travel far outside of MY car ,
33/34 is a very good balance of SQL (best 4 my tastes)
35/36hz is more on the SPL side & bass travels pretty good too

these experiences were in MY CAR - so it could sound different 2 ppl in their own rides .....

well honestly i never tried tuning below 31hz - 31 in my car sounded sweet in my ride & gave my spine a nice massage but outside u just wasnt hearing it or feeling it as intensely . I like a mix of SQL.

Do note though ppl - check ur Fs & its recommended that u do not tune below it , from what i read the experts rec u can tune just slightly above its Fs rating ...

I was wondering how i can make my cvrs to sound that clean but with the lowz louder. Anyone know?? PLEZ HELP!lol.

So tha clean part is SQ right?? Thanx peeps.

So rovin is ur taste like you like to hear lowz loud and clean and u can hear it nice and cherry outside?? If so thats wut i want. I hear cars bassin it and outside they sound cherry and clean but there loud as hell and im sure their subs and sh!t arnt that good, so wut should i tune my box to??

i think 32 would be ok for your taste. i like 35hz in my mountaineer but in most cars 30-33hz sounds the best in my opinion.

just a little tip, if you listen to alot of rap its usually in the 40+hz range so pretty much anything below 38hz will sound good.

yea - i like my sounds low/heavy & VERY clean all @ once

TJ u can experiment with what suits u best , thats y pvc ports have a HUGE advantage over slot/square ports in that its very easy 2 change out a pipe a few times & try something else - like how i recently did (pipe porting also makes ur box smaller in case space is a issue)....

Kool we like da same sound!lol so wut should i tune it to? 33hz? Last night it was so hard and took a long time to tune it from 32hz to 30hz cuz of slot port. Do u think 32hz sounds like the way we like it?? I didnt like it but i probably didnt have it tuned right to 32hz so maybe thats why i didnt like it. How did u get urs to be "low/heavy and very clean"? Thanx bro.

i would say either 33 or 34 cause i liked em both maybe 33 is what i would go .

Here is also a nice tip i came up with 4 ppl reading who have pipe ported box - u know in ur hardware store sells COLLARS (a connection for joining pvc pipe) well if u did cut ur pipe a bit short simply use 1 of these collars (even without glue) instead of removing ur existing pipe & it will extend ur port thus tuning ur box lower .

well i keep all my bass settings on flat 0 - NEVER above cause that will distort ur music @ high volumes . Luckily my premier hu has a 13 band eq & makes it way easy 2 fine tune freqs 2 please ur ears . Also check settings/filters on ur amp ....

My Box for my W7 is tuned to 35 hz, and i set my LPF at 30HZ, that's as high as my amp let's me go with the LPF (subsonic filter).
