I have 2 R's so of coarse I am pro R.lol
But I also have a few friends that have CVR's and even they will admit my R's sound better.
But CVR's do shake the hell out of shiz. If thats all you want.

Ya if everything is installed right. Especially to a song by bass mekanic song # 14 on his reload cd disc 1, kinda feels weird, hits really hard then stops and repeats that quickly and it really makes u feel weird man.

i kinda like the cvrs. i am using a pair of cvrs right now and they sound good and loud. i used to own a pair of type Rs too. the type Rs has a slight advantage in sq but not worth the price difference.

Nick - When you build a ported box make sure it is tuned LOW. i had a dual ported box with 2 cvrs, and a a8000t, tuned at 38hz, and it sounded HORRIBLE. i had everything right, the box just sucked at that high. the sq sucked so bad, i just sold the subs, and the box. it got annoying to listen to. the only thing they would work on was rap with really long notes. They didnt hit very hard at all.

I tune all my boxes to 28-30 hertz. I like to shake the s,hit out of everything. The best thing is when I roll up beside a kid at a light with like a pair of p2's or a w3 or sumthin and play some 25 hertz tones and he looks around trying to figure out why he can feel his intestines shaking but not hear another system.

lol so hey nick, thats what some systems are tuned to, the ones that sound bad azz outside the car when someone is passin by?

Do u think 30hz will be good??

Is there a big difference in tuning an enclosure between 28hz and 30hz?? Watz tha difference in sound??

No, you will not notice the difference between 28 and 30. A tuning in the mid 20's will give the best response for SQ out of a ported enclosure. For SQL most tune between 28 and 34 hertz. 35-42 hertz is more of an spl tune for rap.(but you will lack low bass extension) anything over 45 hertz is for competition, pure spl.

What are most peoples boxes tuned to?? It seems as mine are never tuned like other peoples. Like some systems sound bad azz when approaching you and they are usually with less power and crappier subs. What the fu*k is the problem man?? Thanx.

2 12" cvrs and a lanzar 268.

Dont hate on the amp man, the problems not my equipment cuz my uncles 2 12" sony xplode subs with his 1600 watt sony amp in a slot ported enclosure from audio express with the port inbetween about 3" wide kinda sounded the way i wanted mine to but i have no clue where the hell to tune my box too.

Well you are giving those subs close to thier RMS. What type of car are they in. I would build a 5 cuft box and tune it to 30 hertz.

They are in a Ford Focus 03 not hatchback. I usually have the seats down. I just had two 2.20cuft ported enclosure 1 tuned to 32hz and 1 tuned to 35. I had to go sealed for now which i hate it,but i have no space. What do u think about each 2 cuft tuned to 30hz??
