Gold Member Username: Dustin3Tigard, Or U.S. Post Number: 1373 Registered: Oct-05 | when u look at a amp to fit ur subs you need to first look at ur sub and see what are the diff possibilities of wiring it. use www.the12volt.com and go to woofer wiring on the left DVC (dual voice coil) 4 ohm sub = 2 or 8 ohm load on the amp DVC 2 ohm = 1 or 4 ohm load on the amp DVC 2 ohm subs = 2 or 8 ohm load DVC 4 ohm subs = 1 or 4 ohm load when look at this you need to look at the amps power output at the diff ohm rating. there you have to take into accout what you can wire ur sub as, and look on the amp specs to see how much the amp puts out at that "load" or ohm. the audiobahn a8000t puts out 800 watts @ 2 ohm > ur sub can be wired to 2 ohm ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ so it matches, and ur sub will get 800 watts. go to that site and just play around with the amount of woofers and the diff impedences. |
Gold Member Username: B101Queen City, NC USA Post Number: 2999 Registered: Sep-05 | amplifiers have diffrent "CLASSES" if u get a amp for the highs, it should be a class AB for the bass, a class D amplifier will be more effiecent than a AB.... but both can still work! i will look at the classes, and I will look at its rated power @ a certain ohm load... typically a 1ohm amplifier will be stable @ 1ohm and put out most power at that load! however some newer amps, will allow you to get full power within a certain range of ohms... |
