Jl w 7 is it better ported or sealed?

it will have more sq and drop lower sealed...
it will be louder with slight less sq ported...

how big should i make the box if i go ported some say go over jl specks?

i always go a little over any manufacturer specs...
i have no clue about JL specs...

well they recomend a very small box....o you think having a wrong sized box could eather damage a sub or an amp?

it wont hurt it, actually the sub might like it even more... Ill do atleast .5cubes over whatever they say as the max...

There was one guy on here that posted in the "buying subs off ebay" thread, and he said his 12W7 was in a sealed box, then he switched to ported and will never go back to sealed. I have a 10W7 in a ported box to JL's specs and i've heard it once , it sounded unbelievable as for SQ, and it was louder then my buddies 2 12" JBL's. This was off my buddies 500/1.
