sry for the post in here but HU section is unactive:

just a quick question.

i am trying to remove my kenwood cd player, and i have the face plate off and stuff, but my instructions suck.

when i remove the actual unit from my console, does the metal (that covers the CD player) come out with the unit all as one????

because i am trying to take it out but when i insert a lil screwdriver on both sides of the HU and push in like i'm supposed to, it's not coming out. i dont know why its not comin out!!!

no, it works with the aftermarket cd players, the keys are long thin peices of metal, when u slide it in between the metal and HU, it pulls the clips away from the HU so it will slide out...

Go to your local audio shop, even circuit city (i work there, yea name dropping) and ask them if they've got a pair of radio removal keys lying around.

If they are anything like us they probably have about 100 pair of em. We dont give them to alot of people because they for one wont know what to do with it, or we dont want them taking the radio out and screwing with it.

chances are some of your buddies have em if they are into car audio.

I know i have atleast 7 sets in my car, and another 1000 in my toolbox at work...I am also an installer so that could be the reason for that.
