i figured out that 1 12" 8500 mtx, is louder than 2 12" cvrs. 1 mtx 8500 has 1 cvr by 5.9 DB. That means that 2 cvrs would be about 2.9db lower than the 1 mtx sub. you can do a lot of sub comparisons on this site.

http://www.mtx.com/Flash2/volume_displacement.cfm

you can also test the jl vs. the mtx. The mtx 12" 9500 loses against the 12w7......

Steven that's based on theory, in practical things will be different. if i was you i wont judge a sub by that mtx displacement chart. i'll judge them by put them in real action. don't trust that 100%, that's theory and marketing.

HAHAHAHA, that application is so biased. 12 18" Kicker Solo X's with 6000 RMS apeice can't beat 1 22" Jackhammer with 10000 watts. HMMM, that doesn't seem right.

lol actually that site is just volume displacement. which kinda means something. But 12 18" Solo Xs dont have as much VD as 1 jackhammer. And i dont think that 1 18" kicker solox will ever beat the jackhammer.

Jackhammer:

This isn't some oversized cone stuck to the same magnets from a 15" woofer. JackHammer is the real deal. Manufactured in a custom facility with a magnetizer constructed just for this woofer--a magnetizer that wipes out any credit card that dares come within 25'.

Lol, the sub is 2 feet tall, and is 369 lbs.
