I have a kenwood HU and kicker 6.5's and 6x9's and they are attached by just the Stock wire and its about 24 gauge and really stiff, but would it be noticable with say 14 gauge from the HU or is that only important on am amp? I also have 2 tweeters bridged with the 6x9's. It is not as loud as I expected without turning it way up on the HU (vol-26).
thanks

Larger gauge wire is always better.

no speaker wire from your HU to your speaker won't matter. I assume you are hardwiring it cause most of the time you get a harness for the radio to the stock harness and it all connects from there. How are your speakers bridged? Does your HU allow for that? I would amp the speakers if you want to get louder.
