I just purchased an MB Quart RWE202 8in subwoofer, which I believe is rated at 150 watts RMS @ 2ohms. I was wondering what kind of amp would be good for this sub. I dont need anything that substantial, nothing to make me deaf or pinpoint my location coming down the block. Do any of you know which amp I should purchase? Thanks!

PS: I will be running the amp with an Eclipse HU with only 2.7 volt preouts, nothing special. Thanks sgain!

The Mb Quart RWE202 is DVC @ 2ohms though. But, I am not sure if each VC is rated at 2 ohms. Can anyone clarify this?

Also, would there be a different brand amp I could go for (maybe Eclipse, Alpine)? Thanks!

it just means it a 2 ohm woofer. you dont say that its "DVC @ 2 ohms". with one 2 ohm subs, you can either wire it to a 1 or 4 ohm load.

try:

wire to 4 ohms

no each coil is 4 ohms so u can hook it up 2 diff ways...http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/wiringwizard.asp?WoofQty=1+woofer&WoofImp= Dual+Voice+Coil+-+4+ohms+x+2.......but the most practical for 1 is 2 ohms...and u should give this sub like 200 watts....overpowering it is going to garentee that u are not going to give that sub a bad signal.....most poeple blow subs from a lack of power bc they crank the volume up to get it louder when the amp cant do anymore....and causes the sub to heat up an fail...so find a cheap 200watt or 300 rms amp(thats the most i would do) and run it....

I dont need to overpower my sub. Like I said, I probably would never crank it up past halfway, so I dont need anything that powerful. I just need a sub for the effect it has, not so that the only thing I can here are the low frequencies. I like that alpine. But, I am also considering to amp the 2 rear speakers with that one amp, so should I consider an Alpine Flex channel amplifier?
