do i take the rubber piece around the magnet off when i want to play them? lol i dont know if that was to protect hte magnet while shipping or if it a functional part of the subs. I told you it was a dumb question

from what i noticed on almost all modern subs the manufacturers do put that rubber ring around the magnets mainly 4 protection cause with the slightest object hitiing it , it chips easily - so leave that rubber ring there .
Some sub makers like pioneer/premier use a stiff plastic casing protector thing ....

I'm leaving mine. Like rovin said, leave it on for proection and if you go to sell them later that might add a little more to the value. don't want a beat up magnent
