I would go with the X but it really depends on ur amp .. do you have the power to push the X with because if you do then go with the X... thats what i would go with

for $400 i'd look on ebay, maybe an orion or hifonics, something that'll put out about 2000-2500wrms @ 1ohm.

I've two Type X subs. Also I want to know can a mono amp having a power of 1600 watts push these subs?
As after buying amp, I am going to place the both in my car, will that create any hearing problem for incar passengers? I mean will that produce a lot of bass and volume which one could not bear in car?

Hi Rovin,
I've bought the subs, they are on the way. I'll get them may be in between next week. That why I am curious to buy an amp before their arrival.
I want to know one thing, should I just look for an amp which is having a power of 1000 watts normal RMS with 2 ch, or should also check that how much it deliver the power when it is connected to different levels of impedence?

ok first o you will need ethier a 2ch amp with each ch putting out 1000rms or a a mono amp with 2000rms or 2 mono amps 1000rms and ethier way you go you will need a new alternator and battery and some nice wires

yes type X are good subs

but i get this feeling ur TOTALLY ignoring the current supply that ur amps 2 power them will need - when ur car is blinking & voltage starts 2 drop & u 1 day kill ur stock alt - then r u gonna call a tow truck !?

yes - u need 2 determine load/impedence depending on the subs u buy
with those X u either buy a single large 1 ohm stable amp OR 2 smaller 2ohms each stable amps .

MONO AMP are best for subs .

Rovin,
From your opinion, I think i should buy a mono amp having a power of 1000watt at 1 ohm, right?
In this case, still I've to upgrade the electrrical system? If so, how much that cost

an amp like that will be good for ur x's , you probably wont see the full 2000 watts , but it will be close . And if you didnt want to upgrade your electrical system , you really should have asked around or looked and found out that you have to , especially with those higher wattage subs

Yes, it is a good idea to upgrade your elect. in the car. The stock is only enough to power the cars electrical. If it is 1000 to 2000 watts...IT IS A MUST to upgrade the alt. and batt.

I had a 250amp h.o. alt. put in my corvette for $350. The optima battery was $100. It may sound like a lot, but it is a must compared to what happens when your alt. dies. You have to get towed and then may not be able to shop around for an alt. The place you tow it too will stick you pretty good knowing your desperate to get your car running again. I know from experience.

i think you screwed yourself over and rushed into this.. you should have waited a bit before buying the subs to get more info on things.. when u start going above a system that is 1000 watts it gets expensive.. be prepared to spend 350 on an alternator that you absolutely need.. then heavy gauge wiring (can be bought for cheaper at welding supply stores).. and of course a 2000 wrms amp.. if course u can cheap out and buy one for next to nothing but it wont last and sure as hell wont push 2000 watts

yes for the price id go with r anyday , why ? b/c the r is cheaper than the x , doesnt need as much power to get it moving , and i own a 12'' r right now and plan on getting another soon and throwing around 750 watts to each
