i think it will be fine. i heard the minimum should be 1/2" so 3/4" should be fine. as far as sound quality i think it wont be affected as long as there are no air leaks. im not sure what you are supposed to glue it with like all wood boxes. that would be another question. make sure you predrill every hole with plexiglass!

You would be crazy to use 3/4 inch plexiglass, because it is crazy expensive. 1/8 works fine.

first off dont listen to that guy. 1/8" is just stupid. i didnt say to glue it, i was saying i dont know what to use around the edges. i would deffenetly screw it down tho.

well, it is easy to crack. If its a smaller peice, you want 3/4inch mounting area all around. if its bigger do 1inch. And use a drill bit first.

use a small drill then go bigger take your time dont rush it then i would put some clear glue on it and screw it down but thats just me im sure you could get away with just screwing it though but it wouldnt be sealed as weell as it would if you use glue

you could use 3/4 inch plexi and it would be fine.. i would do a double layer of mdf wherever it is going so you can inset the plexi so it is flush with the wood.. use a countersink bit on the plexi and screw it into the mdf.. use clear silicone where the plexi contacts the wood.. maybe even let it set up a little bit before you screw it down.. the silicone will act as a airtight sealUpload

lilrob. the avalanche had a 9 inch wide magnet. thats larger than the sx magnet by a long shot im pretty sure. and why do you post it EVERYWHERE? i think your inlove with it? did you lube up the hole in the backplate? haha im sorry, couldnt resist.... but you are obsessed with that picture.... its not a boombox, take it off your shoulder and put it back into your car.

btw. id use the thickest plexi you can afford. or lexan. check ebay. sometimes they have like 1 inch by 12x24 for like 20 bucks because its got a chipped corner which you'd cut off anyways.
