my box was designed by a professional!! a buddy of mines!! DB DRAG world finalist 3rd place last year!! So he makes things get extraordinary loud! Sine wave cd from 15 up to 50hz... all those freqs made my HU skip like crazy... just a idea of whats happening... :-) still no numbers yet... :-( not till next week :-) pics... later..

NICE... if you really want it to look good, even though you may go 3 days without bass lol (just suck it up) take your box, put woodfiller over the screws, then resin it, sand sand sand. and paint.... looks great with effort. also for a much easier route that looks good and you can still have bass throughout the whole thing... make a cover for it out of .5inch mdf. just have 2 piece come together at 90 degree. it'll cover the top and baffle. resin and paint it, or vinal it. MDF painted will never have the deepness of resined surfaces...

Dude, good job. I've built some speakers in my day as well. Nuttin like the thump, epecially when you built it! You might want to cover the box with some auto fabric sold just about anywhere on the net. It'll hide the screws and give it a custom look with choice of colors avaiable. I just finished a 500w home theater sub that looks like it belongs in a car but does the job! Shakes the dishes upstairs in the kitchen!!! (4) 10" subs, (8) 3" ports 13" long, 7.25 cube's of volume. My next one will use 12's or 15's and and powered by the 1000w plate amp I should have used on this one. Fabric is cheap, and durable. Good luck!!!Upload

Trevor Ill pickup ur challenge on a later date... Right now its not a pretty box, but a LOUD box.. :-) Exactly how he designed it... He had another box, for a F150 beater he was making; it was the same size as my box, but resin in and out of it, less port area, painted white gloss as final finish, with amp rack... 2800$$$
So im very happy with what I got...
The inside of the box is FULLY TRICKED OUT !!! I cant show pictures.. but lets say its NO edges inside of the box!! He told me RESIN inside, and its OVER! ALL in due time with 2 SSXs comin soon.....

Its just ungodly.... my friend heard it, said it was crazy enough b4, but now its just untamed gorilla!!! People can hear it on the interstate with my windows UP ALL WAY!! / in their own cars, its so loud..

thats awesome both the fact that its insanly loud and that box cost 2800.... because im going to be building nice boxes all summer long :-) but yeah, installs are craz expensive.. i'll be charging, depending on the install, 1/4-1/2 what a shop would.

resin will make it sturdier and let the air flow more freely across it (smoother surface). the glue or caulk should seal it up just fine.

Hey B, speaking of the SSX here is one of my box designs I may be going with. This will be installed/glass in under my rear deck then carpeted. It will allow me to seal the trunk from the cabin. Those ports will be aeros, this is just a rough draft...Polo. :-O

I allowed 10" for the depth of the sub which will be inverted into the pocket to the right. The motor structure will be visible inside the cabin. The ports are not to scale, those are 6" dia when in fact I will be using 4". Polo..

No B, that pocket by the sub end is to close off the trunk from the cabin. It basically is gonna be a TCAB box but "built in" and made out of MDF. There will be a removeable panels the aeros mount to that will allow it to be reversed to make the ports external, seat will fold down also. This allows up to around a 1.5 db increase. I have been working my @ss off to pay for my hobby this week so I don' have much "on-line time". I will be on tomorrow night plenty of Miller Lite so if anyone wants to know the basics of that program let me know, I have got it down FO SURE, lol..Polo.. :-O
