Would I need an extra battery if I have an H/O alternator that puts out more power than my system draws? I know that the battery would drain fast with the car off, but as long as I keep the car running I would be fine right?

3. Engine ground to chassis
4. Alt. - to battery -(my installer did this one)

the way i did mine was i left the factory wiring alone and just added 0 gauge cable to:

1. alt + to batt +
2. batt - to chasis
3. alt mounting bolt to batt -

muddy if you have a wire going from your alt mounting bolt to the bat - that grounds your engine so it is the same as grounding your engine to chassis, so really you do have that upgraded :-)

Think of your chassis as a wire. By doing the alt bolt to bat neg, you're cutting out the alternators ground having to go through the rest of the engine, through the ground strap, through the chassis, and finally from the chassis, to the wire to the battery negative. :-) It's just a much straighter route with far less resistance.
