I am planning on eventually getting rid of my current subs and getting new ones. I think I am going to get some DD's. I have an Orion 2500d. What DD subs would compliment that amp. 15's or 18's only please. 1-4(I got lots of room)

just get 1 15" dd 9500 series lol you will be happy with it

otherwise you could get some dd 3500's
but the 9515 would be amazing and you would be really happy im gonna be running a orion 2500d on a 9512

Do you think it would beat my 4 adire tempests in spl on the same amp? (same box tuning)

i dont know how high those hit but you could throw the dd in a huge box and hit 150's

probably not....you are talking about 4X as many subs on the same power.....stupid question.:-)

actually mudy it could pretty easily cause with the same amount of power it will only add 3 db's per sub which would be 3 extra subs and that would only be 9 extra for them and i bet the dd could pick up 9 db's ont hem in the right box

I figured it wouldn't beat the four tempests due to efficiency rise with multiple drivers.

not to mention, I'm sure there is also some cancellation with four fifteens that the single dd won't suffer from.

4 subs has more surface area and more excursion than 1 sub. and on the same power.....duh.

what size are your Tempests?

btw.....6dbs is twice as loud. so you are talking about 9 dbs....:-)

nick a 9917 would be amazing but you would need a bigger amp it is said that the 99 and 95 series are the same up tilll 4 krms then the 99 really shines so it would be pointless to get a 99 unless you have the power and i odont mean pointless but i mean for the money

I'm pretty sure 10 db's is twice as loud acoustically. The tempests are 15's, the first version adire made. How would 2 3500 series 15's or a single 9917 stack up? The total p-p excursion of my tempests is 144mm, I don't see any x-max ratings on DD's website. The 3500's have a suspension of 75mm, so two would total 150mm. Seems to me that two 3500's would compete.

the 3500's do get really loud also or you could get another orion 2500d and get 2 9515's

And they are 4 db more sensitive then my tempests. And the 144m is all the tempests added together.

I dont have the money to upgrade my electrical system and get another amp. But if i get 2 15' 3500's, i will have room to get 2 more and another amp in the future.

6 dbs is roughly twice as loud.

not 10:-)

and i still think that 4 15" SPL budget subs(says it on their site) against one 15" ....is still gonna result in the 4 15's being louder.

How much would 2 18" hd3's cost, or 2 death penalty's(15"), How would these compare to 2 15" 3500's.

Do you think 2 death penalty's will out do 4 tempests(same as the dayton audio mkII)? Just an educated guess.
