OK, Im getting rid of my 1 L7 for two type r subs.
Question is
amp is 1016 at 1 ohm = 508wrms per sub
or
amp is 916 at 2 ohm = 458wrms per sub
subs are rated at 500wrms
Should I go with the 4 dvc or 2 dvc subs.
My thought is the 2 ohm so amp is not working as hard. the diffrence between running 1 ohm and 2 ohm is only like 100 wrms. What way would you run it?

You want 2 4ohm DVC R's they can handle more than its RMS so if you amp really does 1016 @ 1ohm then you wire them both to a 1 ohm load.

ya but for the sake of 100 watts wouldnt 2 ohms be better for the amp? IE less power consumption. cooler amp load?

If your amp is 1 ohm stable I would run it in 1 ohm because R's are 500rms 1500maxx and they will handle a bit more than their rms and you amp will be fine

that ^^^ is my set up

1000wrms is good but they can easily handle 1200+ wrms ....

Well my L7 is rated at 750wrms 1500 max so you think it could take the 10016wrms, But noooo, and when I put it at 1 ohm 1016wrms it has not happy. I even had the gain at a quarter. It was loud, but was beging to cook the coils. I am now forced to run it at 4ohms, a lousy 516wrms. This is why im getting rid of it and going with the Rs.
BTW Rovin you happy with em? What kind of box are they living in?
