so ive been on this forum for a while learning as much as i can about subs, but i have neglected the electrical side of it. i was just wondering if an amp kit and some speaker would be all i need to hook up sub and amp. if so, how kind of wire as in what gage? any help would be greatly appreciated.

sounds like you'll need at least 000 gauge, judging by the information you've provided. Also, to be safe, since we have no clue what kind of vehicle you drive, better order at least 300 feet. As far as speaker wire, you'd probably be safe with 12 gauge, but since you provided no information, better make that 8 gauge as well.

It's cheaper to buy the componets of an amp kit seperately, than it is to buy them as a kit, and I dont know anyone with triple 0 gauge wire kits.
