today i was informed that having 2ohm(infinity kappas) speakers running off a 4ohm hu(alpine cda-9855) could be overheating my headunit. or is the headunit's power just doubled? anyone with any ideas?

u will eventually fry the HU output transistors.. with too low of a ohm load being hooked up to it... pretty soon, only your RCAs will work as outputs..

i was telling him on Aim ealier that i didn't think 2 ohm speakers on a 4 ohm HU was such a good idea.....but i wasn't sure if they have 2 ohm HU's....so i told him to make a thread on it.
