After installation i have sound and bass but i always have noise in sub.The sub always play like to be burned. and after 2 days of use i lost bass. i have sound at the output of amp but sub look like to be burned.

My amplifier is a 4ohms
i have plug the sub in 2ohms mode but its a 4ohms + 4 ohms.
i can plug my sub in 2 or 8ohms mode.

i wanna know if bad ohms ajustement can burn the sub or its was the sub had a malfunction

Thanks

Yes... if the subs are wired incorrectly, or at too low a ohm load like 2ohms; Then placed on a amp thats only stable to 4ohms... It will load the amplifier down, and make the amp produce a clipped signal to the subs.. which in turns burns the voice coils up in the subs...

The amp and sub work together...

Think of a amp being a circuit that is OPENED.. (nothing connected)

Adding a sub will CLOSE the circuit (connected)... The sub needs to be the correct resistance that the circuit of the amp is designed for...
