a mono amp just means it has only one channel....which mean it can't produce a stereo sound....b/c it is a mono-aural channel amp.

a stereo amp has two channels...

it has nothing to do with how many subs oyu have.

there r ALOT of ppl on this forum who run their Rs with that kicker amp

i use 2 power my pair with this amp
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductReview.aspx?ProductID=14965

& using my setup https://www.ecoustics.com/electronics/forum/car-audio/189456.html tuned around 33/34hz pvc ported - it makes me steering column move & 2day i went by a friends house & his roof vibrate
though that MB amp is GR8 i would recommend u buying a even more powerful 1200wrms @ 1ohms amp like that kicker or orion 1200d , re1200 www.reaudio.com or phoenix gold xenon 1200 or ed9 http://edesignaudio.com/category.php?type=amps ........

Wire it like this and get the kx 1200.1

http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/wiringwizard.asp?WoofQty=2+woofers&WoofImp =Dual+Voice+Coil+-+4+ohms+x+2

That will give you a 1ohm load, which will allow you to get the full potential out of that amp. The subs may see 700wrms, depending on the amp. Those amps are underrated so it will be excellent for the subs. Dude at crutchfield must of thought you had the DVC 2ohm versions, then you could only wire it to a 2ohm load, giving your subs 300wrms each. But anyways, that amp will work great
