it's just a giant rectangle sealed box I am thinking about porting it but I have no skill in porting right now im checking the wiring because it seems like when it hits a high note at high volumes it distorts but when it comes to low freq notes its wild! here is a pic

holy sh!t. i can't believe you got that box in there. your truck must have a huge space in the back. those subs look like babies in that box. damn. good job man.

also why don't you just turn your lpf to a lower frequency so it won't hit the high notes.

I did turn it down. the subs are MOVING alot but it is not that loud I think building this box was a waste of my time because im not impressed something went wrong maybe it's to big? or needs 2 seperate chambers I dont know anyone know anything about porting or how to make it louder please help!!!

you mean you didn't separate the chamber? you should. a box that big should have 2 chambers. also if you make a large square port or make it into a slot port then that will take up some cuft in that box.

make a separated chamber. then get the cuft of each chamber. decide which frequency you want to port your box and enter it here in this site.

i took one sub out and turned it on with one in it and there was so much air coming out the hole and it was extremely loud

i bet it sounded like sh-it tho. that "port" was probably tuned to like 100hz.

i still think 10cuft per sub is just too big...

these subs require a minimum of 7 cf per sub so I think it is fine they dont get that loud but they are clear as can be and when I put 2 chambers instead of one and port it I think it will be just fine but to tell you the truth I dont care about it being that loud it sounds good like it is.

does a bogger box make a sub louder? i have a van and 1 15, louder would ne awesome if a bigger box will help, the box im useing now isnt huge, but it sounds good. im the same as josh... no skill with poerting, so sealed is the way i go. that box is huge man

the box is entirely too big. 1.5-2.5 cubic feet per sub is more in line for a 15" sub, sealed. 10 cubic feet per sub is really too big even for a ported box. You can't just build a box and expect it to work... it's slightly more complicated than that. The bigger the box does not always mean better, louder, etc...

i noticed on the picture where your dad is cutting the hole out that the sub is barely on the tip of that box. you should be careful next time. that thing could of fell off.

are you 100% positive that it is sealed all the way? like airtight?

i just recently built a box for mine and there was one part that wasnt sealed so it sounded like crap. but once i sealed it it sounded good. you have to go over all the parts where the wood come together with some sort of glue. liquid nails works very well

well, i see a whole for the wires. Your are supposed to use a terminal. There is probobly an air leak because of that. BTW what kind of amp do you have?

you might've just as well mounted them infinite baffle.

noobs: no, having a bigger box won't make your subs louder.

Yes that is a vented box for 2 15's in the background?.... I have 2 BX2005D hifonic,
Correct me if im wrong but does it take a little time for the air in the box to compress before it sounds good in a sealed box?
