sw9152 you think the atlas is the best sq sub, i have 2 of them and they have VERY GOOD sq but i like the eclipse al, and w6v2 sq more.

the best i have heard. i heard a W6 but i thought the atlas was slightly more accurate but not near as loud from what i can remember. could have just been the setup though.

i allways figured they would be about the same spl wise, cause i heard a w6 and cvr at a stereo shop and they were about the same spl wise, and my atlas is just a touch louder than my friends cvr, but i liked the sq from the w6v2 more, maybe the new box will help the atlas's out.

After several hours of research, I have come to the conclusion of going with the SoundSplinter RLP-12 subwoofer and going sealed and then ported.

http://www.soundsplinter.com/rlp12_premium_series_12_inch_DIY_subwoofer_informat ion.html

Anyone here heard this subwoofer before. It is suppose to be very detailed and get low aswell. Suppose to be in the same league as a w6v2 and idmax.

I bet you couldnt find enough reviews huh... so u looked over it... lol.... the company is only 5yrs old..
articles may convince u of other subs.... & be more convincing the more u read... but just go listen at a local dealer..

really.... get something man, u've been searchin 4 mnths and still lookin at the same stuff... do u need more convincing into the same selection?

I think I just might have to go down the same path as you again MO. I was thinking about getting the ID max until they stopped making it. That soundsplinter looks pretty nice. I think I might get the 12 put it in a 1.5 cubic foot vented box tune to 28hz with 800 watts and see how it does. You would probably get it before me though, but if you do get it, make sure to let us know how it performs! :-)

Its definetly going to be between the 12w6v2 and the RLP-12 and new 12w3v3 and 13w3v3

Maybe jonathan can shed some light on this.

Depends on what you want. I'd take a W6v2 over an SSI any day of the week, but an SSI will get louder.

The RLP I haven't heard.

Dunno what the W3v3s will be like, but obviously it isn't going to outperform the W6v2. I'd think it'll be similar to the current W3 in output, but with a more linear motor design and overall better SQ.

Go with the RLp, trust me, its worth it, I have a 15. Gets pretty loud and is pretty accurate. I dont even have enough power running to it yet.

They recommend 600-800 for optimum performance.
