i dont know why i havent asked this before but is

500 x 2 @ 4 ohms the same as
1000 x 1 @ 2 ohms? besides the fact thats they put a certain load on the amp??

put out same power is the main question??...

and what does the x 1, or x 2 mean?

i feel stupid askin this, i have been around too long. lol

using ur example , i'm thinking ^^^ might be a 2 chan amp & each channel puts out 500 @ 4ohms , if both channels are bridged then it means it comes like 1 chan & it can do 1000 @ a 2ohms load ...

500 x 2 @ 2ohms stereo is equivelent to 1000x1 @ 4 ohms mono. 500 x 2 @ 1 ohm stereo is the same as 1000 x 1 @ 2ohms mono, and so on.

thats what i thought. and Dustin, i know i dont know how i didnt know, i just didnt know what the x 1 and x 2 meant but from the reply's i realized i already knew that. LOL thanks
