I bought a used rockford fosgate 500a2 old skool but when i tested it on my two solo barIc 10 L7 i culdnt hear any thump from my speakers the amp turn on just doesnt sound as loud as the 250a2 i had replaced it which rattled the speakers hard any sugestion?
im fairly new to this car audio stuff just learning so how do i set the gain and whats it for since i bought it used its how the previous user had it and it doesnt have a bass boost built inside like my rf 250a2 it uses an external bass knob which was missing here are the specs 710 watts mono into 4 load 330 watts per channel into a 2 load 210 watts per channel into a 4 load
and one other question i had an 8gauge power lead on my other system do i have go to 4gauge for it to perform better.
don't use any bass boost. they usually just create distortion.
there should be a Gain or Input sensitivity knob on the amp. you need to find that and adjust it to match the Pre Out Voltage of your HU. or set your HU 3/4 of the way up, then adjust the Gain ont he amp till you start to hear distortion, then back it down a little and you're good to go.
might also check your filters. set it to low pass and 80Hz.
