Silver Member Username: CtmikeCt. Post Number: 192 Registered: Feb-06 | got a stupid question. i am running 2 12w3 each getting 400wrms. if i were to put 2 12w6's on the same amps (xenon 400.1) how much of a difference would i expect? i know the w6 is jl's best sub, imo, but with the same power going to both would i notice a huge difference as in deeper bass and overall sq? just wondering cause i have a chance to get a pair and instead of getting some treos i'm thinking of these. if it helps the w3 are in ported box, and for now the w6 would be sealed, for awhile. |

That's because the motor of the W6 is more linear and has more BL at high excursions, thus doesn't suffer as much from compression. But yes, you'd definately notice an improvement in SQ with those subs. The W6 is a better SQ subwoofer overall, and gets louder for that matter. |

Silver Member Username: UcfsaxmanOviedo/orlando, Fl Post Number: 724 Registered: May-05 | that should sound great it would be deeper and have better SQ. Probably would be noticeably louder too maybe 1.5 db or so especially if you put them in a decent box. |
Gold Member Username: TjmutlowPost Number: 1886 Registered: Sep-05 | one per sub, is fine, but if you want louder youll need to run them in a ported box. honestly, i do not know if your going to get a lot more louder if your going from the w3 ported to a w6 sealed. |
Gold Member Username: James1115Ct Post Number: 5555 Registered: Dec-04 | Yeah Loc I had a 15 in ava in my last set-up. |
Silver Member Username: Loc_outSanta Ana, Ca Post Number: 365 Registered: Feb-05 | How loud was that 15? It had to be louder then 2 15w6 right? |
Gold Member Username: James1115Ct Post Number: 5557 Registered: Dec-04 | down low yes but the 15w6's have much better transient response and the upper end (above 50hz) is far superior on the w6's. |
Gold Member Username: Jonathan_fGA USA Post Number: 5923 Registered: May-04 | 15W3v2 is better than the old W6s, FWIW. Motor topology is very similar to a W7, though it doesn't have the x-max of one. Better low end than the old 15W6s, higher output, upper end is just as good if not better. |

Its 2.2 cuft sealed enclosure. Whould a 15w3v2 work well with the enclosure i have ? I have 900 watts from that arc amp. Will i be ok if i ran it to this sub sealed ? If i kept my gain low. here is the pdf for the 15w3v2 http://mobile.jlaudio.com/pdfs/8032.pdf |
