1 doesnt take up trunk room
2 closer to the listener giving greater spl potential
3 creative installation
4 can be part of a all front stage type installation giving better overall imaging and sound quality
5 I just thought id throw in the fact that cabling and wiring could also be be shortened using this approach from headunits and amplifiers potentially hence possible cost reduction and sonic benefit as well

yeah if you use fiberglass on alot of the door you can easly fit a small 8 or 10. its not an easy install by any means though.

if you have the money or the skills, you can do almost anything.

The big thing that will hold you back is keeping the door from rattling, especially if you run the subs IB. The old JL IB4s were VERY good subs for this, they could perform midbass duty, too. Good luck finding one, though.

But yeah, a door is a good physical location for a subwoofer, assuming you put effort into making it work.

a big thick door like a truck or suv would probly work best

I seen a sight a while ago where someone in I think an S-10 had a RE XXX 12" in the doors, and he had them in aperiodic enclosures.
