Rave'n if you want to tune it to the frequency you want, your ports need to be longer. to tune your box to 32hz your ports need to be 30.68 inches. make sure you measure the center line of the port to get the length.
"and because its cold today I can finaly get a chance to build my ported box"
why do you have to wait til it gets cold?
also you won't hurt your subs. infact with the tuning you have in mind, it might sound alot better and louder. i personally liked the type Rs in sealed though. its just some subs sound better sealed and some sound better ported.
btw my type Rs were tuned to 40hz when i had them ported so if you tune it low like you wanted then it might sound much better.
I had to wait till it got cold because if it were warm I would have had to go to work.
This was my final design^^. I had to take out my backseat just to put this thing in how I wanted.
It gets a lot deeper now and is very punchy, But there are some bass tones that I dont think sound right that sounded great before . Baisicly I went from young jeezy type bass and now I find myself listening to stuff like Bone Crusher and this song I found on a burnt CD I Have no idea who it is but that song pounds soo hard . I have been useing it for my Battle of the Rattle. Anyone with a Sub in their Trunk knows what I mean. I like to wrap stuff in electrical tape where metal touchs metal. It works wonders.
