im gonna get aero ports for my SX15, for of them, 4" each

good idea?

i dont know wheather to port them internal or external but i think im leaning toward internal, because i will end up with more cu ftage in an internally ported box

im thinking about firing the sub up becaseu this will give me some more cu ft, is that okay in a trunk?

any other sugestions?

i want to build this box so i will never want to replace it

Yea...four 4" would be good. I wouldnt go any larger than 5cuft net w/ 4 4" ports though.

2 6" ports would prolly be better.

when you say 4 4" ports or 2 6" ports, you are talking about the diameter right?

well i have no idea where to get 2 6" so...

already placed the order for 4 4" thou so whatever

not bigger than 5 cu feet? even with these?
http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=268-352

they are like 17" long each

i think i will just use the whole tubes so i dont have to worry about cutting and just let it be tuned to whatever it comes out to, should be around 35hz anyways

This is for PORTED enclosures.
Data Input:
Height? = 14 Inches
Width? = 30 Inches
Depth1? = 31 Inches
Depth2? = 31 Inches
If the above dimensions are OUTSIDE dimensions, enter the thickness of the wood below.

Wood Thickness? = .75 Inches
Speaker Displacement? = .19 Ft³
Port Frequency? = 35 Hertz
Port Diameter? = 4 Inches
Number of Ports? = 4
Sq. Port Ratio H:W? = 1:

Data Output:
Box Front Angle = 90 Degrees
Gross box volume = 5.892 Ft3
Net box volume = 5.382 Ft3
Port Length = 17.549 Inches
Port Area = 50.265 Inches2
Port Volume = .51 Ft3

here is what i was planning, with the sub on top and the ports blowing at the cab

do i need bracing? i was thinking mabey just 3 or 4 dal rods around the sub hole for extra support
