since box impedance rise raises the final impedance..

if you have a 1000 watt RMS sub and you want the full wattage would it be okay to go with like a 1700 rms amp sothat you can get full power. should you "overpower" your subs to makeup for the box impedance rise??

as the freq changes so will the imp...at some freq your imp will be very close to your DCR. overpowering a sub by 70% could turn out really bad if you are a volume monkey :-)

but, if you are just doing it for comps...doubling and even tripling the rated RMS is common place :-)

most of the time, if you can get your imp to match your amps you will can do really well. (ex...amp rated @1ohm, wire subs to ~.35-.25ohm DCR for burps, box rise may end up being ~1ohm.)

i have seen "1ohm amps" take .175ohm DCR on burp

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND DOING THIS UNLESS YOU REALLY KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING, HAVE A DAM GOOD ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, AND YOU REALLY DONT CARE ABOUT THE AMPS :-)
