looks go0d but a better way 2 build a box is not 2 do the top last. say u have a messed up cut it will throw it of so if u do the bottom 1st then both sides the the back then u put the top on then u do ur port make spacers so the port is even then run ur port then caulk it then the next port infront do that just a easier way imo i just got makin a box 2 a slot ported box for my 1 friend its nice an tuned 2 30hz an u should of painted the port black a nicer look but other than that great box hope it sounds go0d as it looks

i don't know exactly cory to be honest. i just inputed the cu ft after the driver displacement and that is the length of the port i got. i am sure i lose some cuft cause of the port but that is what i came up with.

here is the second box. i finally finished it an installed it. damn i am never doing that again. oh and i will organize the cables later. i am just to tired to do anything else. lol. these subs get so loud in that box too. i could barely stand it in my car. i don't even have the ho alt installed yet. the ho alt from iraggi should be arriving in a couple of days so i am getting that installed next saturday. after the ho alt it is even gonna get louder in my car.

well im not really making fun of him is just that abox made in two hours isnt gonna come out good. And i wouldnt use fur but again thats up to him i just wouldnt pay 150-200 hes asking for a dual slot port box when you can get better for the cheaper for example chads box that box looks better and probably stronger cause it wasnt done in two hours it lokks betterthan any box i seen custom boxes post. And cheaper.

NEMEN if the box you're asking about was the one in my install thread here:

https://www.ecoustics.com/electronics/forum/car-audio/213278.html

then no, i've built 1 other box for my brother and it didnt turn out too good because home depot made the cuts not straight so it didnt turn out good but eventually i fixed it and it was sealed up so thats what matters... but this would be my second box it turned out very nice.

the first box it took me 4 days. around 2-3 hours a day. the second one took me 6 hours straight on sunday. i am never doing that again. lol. i was so tired today for some reason. i had home depot cut the top and bottom piece. also i had them cut 13" strips after the top and bottom piece was cut. so i saved some time doing that. the 13" strips were for the height.

i know it isn't the best box you guys all have seen but let me tell you my car pounds hard with that box.

a simple rectangular box can be built in ~2hours.

i have built a 50.5" x 16.5" x 16.5" box w/ 60sq inches of port and put it in the truck in under 2hours b4. all the cuts were really easy

my god thats alot of JL power, not to mention alot of cash to get them, i would turn the 1000/1 around so you can reat them, and mount them flush, you probly have enough MDF and carpet and it will look pro and also be a bich to steal

I must say, each amp wired to 1ohm load... this thing will mute your system & others around you... this is big boi stuff, people call the cops on you. :-) I will be competing with this setup pretty much, but way way diffrent box...

i said itll be better if u fire the subs backwards cuz in most cars it does sound better. like in mine. but i guess all cars are different and all trunks are different

freddy....if you seal around the box from the rest of the trunk, the sq will be there. not to mention the output will be much louder. i did that today and i love it. its so loud and clean. :-)

in the picture it isn't sealed. i just did that today. still even if i took the picture now you couldn't see that its sealed.

anyways after trying facing back and front, it sounds best if you face it front after sealing around the box. you should try it when you have the chance. also your ports need to be in the center of the box rather than on the outer sides.

i did a temporary job right now. lol. not much to look at with pictures. i just used some foam wrapped with duck tape and i wedged it in between the box and the trunk. my box is pretty big so there is only little space between the trunk and around the box. now that i know it makes a big difference, i am going to start thinking about doing something more permanent and better.
