Im going to need to get a new HO alt. when i get my new system. im guessing ill be running around 200-225 amps with 2 ED nine.1s and a nine.2x. i emailed the guys at excessiveamperage and they havent written me back in over a week. i asked an audio store by my house and they said they could get me a 200amp and install it for around 1100. i kinda laughed because thats more than all the amps im getting.
i guess i have 3 questions. first, how big of an alt? second, how much do they usually cost? third, other good sites to buy them from?
i would suggest you to get a 300 amp alt from Iraggi on ebay. just go to ebay and type in iraggi and go into one of the seller's auctions and ask him how much it will cost. It should be around 400, but it also depends on the model of your car.
little higher then some of the other HO Alt people, but very good stuff.
for size, RMS/12.6 then multiply by 1.2 for class D amp or 1.4 for class AB. that'll be about your total current draw. add 40-50 amps for the car to that number and thats the size alt you need.
