i'm willing to bet that, the RE would sound better than the treo-- if you had more pushing them

joseph ask B and he will tell you that those subs are monstrous. lol. he said they get real loud and has awesome sq also.

"i'm willing to bet that, the RE would sound better than the treo-- if you had more pushing them"

that would be one's opinion cause they are both good companies.

the treo SSX is an amazing sub. you would think because it is an SPL sub it wouldnt have any sq but thats completely wrong. treos straight SPL subs are the CSX and the soon to be CXT, they are pretty much only for comps.

i would put around 2500-3000rms on a 15' if it was me. they can handle alot more but its not really worth it.

If they compare to the XXX that mean they can get super loud and hit really low right?

the XXX isnt really designed to get super loud...but yeah they can get loud enough. put around 1000rms on each SSi you get.

man, sorry I missed this.. lol
THE SSX will KILL a MT and sound WAY better doing so.... :-)
Muddy yess, the MTs are cheaper...

my boi Ronnie getting 2 18" SSX for a 1000$ EACH this same month. But he has had every single TREO sub :-)

I think alot of people on this forum dont really know/understand what LOUD IS!!! :-)
He will be givin each SSX a meanmachine 4000RMS :-):-):-) Thats what loud IS! It should also be in the 152-56dbs on the TL!

lol, i just caught this as u bumped it..
man its a tuff choice :-) both are similar, they both will hurt ya..
I must say sometimes my Tsx 15s, scare the sh!t out of me... LOL

the SSI is solely designed as a SQ driver...
the TSX is deisnged as a SQL driver...

With the same power feeding the SSI, feed the TSX it will shine just as loud or slightly louder... however the SSI will sound better, and hit way lower.. :-)
The SSI uses most of its potential to sound good.. The TSX will use its potential to sound good and get loud...

Put it this way, it comes down to the install, and how much power you give each subs, to see which will get louder in a vented box... :-)

The SSI will be able to handle/take little more power than the TSXs thermally.....
However that being said, my TSX are seing 5x their rated RMS... give a SSI 5x its rated power, your have a SPL & SQ combo, that could win a SQ competition! :-)

Look at the specs of each.. www.treoonline.com
the TSX has a slightly bigger magnet, smaller rms, and lot more excursion.

How much power you got to use anyway? Do you know what a SSX is???? Its older brother to the TSX!!! and he can get REALLY REALLY MADD!!

lol, got 2 run....

Yeah i would get some SSX's but the price is a little to much ;) at first i was thinking about 2 18" SSIs but now im leaning to 3 15" TSXs. Either setup will be pushed by a 3000wRMS amp. What you think about either setup B?

that would be loud. get 4 TSxs instead of 3 though. thats what i was origionally going to go with but now im leaning towards 4 SSi 12s. they are the best SQL sub ive heard.

the shop where i look at the treo stuff made an SPL car with 4 15' SSis and 2 zapco c2k 9.0 amps. it hit 170 something dB and won a world title. ill email them to get all detials and stuff.

i dont really have the space to run 4 15's but if i go with the SSI's ill do 2 18's. How will the SQ be on 2 18" SSI's?

jake 4 SSIs :-)

"i dont really have the space to run 4 15's but if i go with the SSI's ill do 2 18's. How will the SQ be on 2 18" SSI's?"

2 18s SSIs will sound good :-) like I said its a pure SQ driver. 3 15s tsx on 3krms is a better match for you :-) You really need more power with bigger subs...

treo's are great. the cones on my ssi's are starting to soften just a little and already i can hear the sq improving and the output is getting louder. they hit the lows well for a pair of 12s.
