Remote On Wire?

I am reading the manual and it says wiring, 4/8 guage, thicker if planning for additional amps, 12 guage for the remote on. Do i need to use 12 g, or can i use 16g? Also the manual says use same size fuse for fuse holder at the batt. than the amp uses. my fuse holder is 80 amp, on amplifier it is 40, so should i get 40 amp fuses for the fuse holder? and will the fuse holder that org came with 80 amp fuses work with 40 amp fuses?

16awg is plenty for a remote trigger. it's a 12 volt very low current (<350mA) trigger signal.

as for the fuse, match it to the current demands of the amp(s) connected to the line.
that means you need to figure out the wattage for each amp at its given load in your system, then add the amp outputs up, divide by 12, and add in an extra 20% or so. 60% for class AB amps
