I have two alpine type R 12" subs with a rockford p8002 refurbished amp and a 1 farad capacitor. The other day the ground to the capacitor came loose and when i turned the car on the subs didn't turn on, the amp light goes on and the capicitor is fine, what's the deal with my system?

double check all your wiring over again.......is the normal amp light on? or is the protection light on? Ensure you have a really secure ground again

what could have happened is you drained your capacitor and if you read the manuals they say charge befor use. so if its completely dead it could malfunction and somehow mess up the power giong to your amp... idk thats just a thought. i know one day wires pulled off the battery i have in the back so voltage dropped to 9 volts and my amp shut down. oh... yeah young james has a good point lol... which light are you tlaking about?
