Wiring?!?!

The wiring kit came with two harnesses that I wired without a problem, but when I went to hook it up, there is a smaller third (white factory) harness. What is this for? it only has two wires in it, oh yeah and when I hooked it up I got no sound. Does anyone know how to hook it up? any help would be great
