Question about wires and rca's

Stupid questions I know, but I am just trying to learn this stuff. Anyways, is there any certain color that the remote wire will be? Also, what do preouts do? Are they what you run your rca's from to go to your amps? If so do you need 2 preouts to run 2 amps? rca's from each? Thanks to anyone that replies.

behind the radio, conventional remote trigger or power antenna line is blue or blue with white trace, but this isn't always the case.

pre-outs are RCA line-level outputs from the head unit that allow signal to be sent to amplifiers.
good pre-outs have at least 4 volt signals.
When no voltage is listed, they are usually 1.8 to 2.8 volts.

2 "preouts" implies one stereo pair.
2 "sets" of preouts indicates "front and rear" stereo pairs
good head units offer 3 sets.

So, I need a sub preout to make it work the way I need it to then? I'm assuming that if I used the front and rear or stereo that it would fade out with the radio controls? Like the mids and highs do right? ANyways, thanks for the first response Glasswolf.

yes, except if you don't use amplifiers for front/rear, and your sub amp has a low-pass crossover built into it, you can use F/R preouts for a sub..
it'll just be affected by the fader as you noted
