that will work too, but you could just shave some of the wire off to make it fit.

that seems like a good product

if u shave the tip, u not really loosing power...
the wire is still thick enough for the current travel 10ft.....
so most potential is still goin to be right by the tip, to get technical..

it wouldnt make a noticeable diffrence, trying to keep it simple, like I always do.. hehhe

Dont bother using 1/0 ga wire then - if your terminal is 4ga. Think about it logically - if u needed 1/0 ga, the terminal would be 1/0. If it was passing so much power that u needed 1/0, the terminal would be 1/0.

.. never understood why people get so wild with 1/0 wire.. oye..

thats what i was thinking James, lol.

use a reducer like that link shows. cutting the strands down to make it fit can cause problems. the connection using a reducer will be more secure and solid. but either way, your gonna lose some current potential i guess you could call it, lol.

kinda depends on what your hooking it to and how the contact is made.

think of the typical water example. if you have water flowing through a 2 inch pipe, then it reduces down to a 1 inch, you can't force as much through the pipes.

Electricity doesn't work like water, so the pipe example isn't very accurate.

If you want to get technical, you'll only end up seeing about a 0.0000525V difference if you used 4g wire for a 1/2 inch versus 1/0g all the way.

With regards to current, you will have absolutely zero difference between them. If you disagree, open up your amp and look at the wires coming from the power terminals. They won't be near the size of the power wires.

It's always a better idea to buy more than you need if you are going to upgrade in the future. Overkill now will save you money in the end.

So your saying their wouldnt be a difference if i used 1/0 ga with that adapter vs 4 ga all the way?

I was meaning by just cutting the wire to fit. Go with 1/0 and don't even bother with an adapter.

wow....no offense guys,but.....a little common sense would have answered your question...

the adapter is serving the same purpose as shaving the tip...it has no circuitry or anything to make it different...and the wires u cut off will touch right after the connection so there will be absolutelty no dif...and since the connector is 4g u wont have to worry about power loss....

use a distro block 0/4guage, then 4 guage to the amps.....

The way i have always seen it is the wire works like a water hose if you have a big hose with a certain amount of water it will come out slower than if you had a smaller one that would spew it out, but it depends on how much power you are sending to the amp/capacitor because if your sending an extreme amount 5,000-10,000 watts then you need something big that would'nt limit the current but when it comes to just everyday systems you do'nt really need a wire that big.
