ok the amp wiring kit comes with a fuse to put along with your power cable right? well does that fuse have to match your amps fuses or should it be greater or how does that work?

It should be close to the total of the amp's fuses. It can be a little more or a little less as long as it doesn't exceed the capacity of the wire.

There's a lot of gray area when it comes to fuses.

You'll only need to get up to a 100A fuse, what's the RMS on the amp, and what kind of subs?

the rms is 900w x 1 @ 2 ohms and 500w x 1 @ 4 ohms and the sub is an S12L5 dual 4ohm. so i can either wire to 8 or 2 ohms meaning i wire to 8 and turn everything up or wire down to 2 and turn everything down. which should i do?

Did you ask this same question somewhere else?? Because I know I just answered this question...

ANYWAY!!!

Quick and simple!
IF SPEAKER IS BROKEN IN:
1) 100A Fuse
2) Wire down to 2 ohm
3) Turn amp up half way * Gain is only volume, your speaker is goin' to get 900 watts no matter what the gain is on *...

IF SPEAKER ISN'T BROKEN IN:
1) 100A Fuse
2) Wire to 8 ohms
3) Turn amp all the way up, and turn bass down on the CD player * Don't adjust the amp, just adjust the bass on the CD player! * Turn the amp up though, remember that!
* This makes it to were the speaker is gettin' all the wattage, but not being stressed *
