ported is most efficient until tuning frequency after that it drops off. I prefer the sound of a sub in a sealed enclosure cause I don't like the boomy sound. I like it tight.
sealed boxes go deeper then ported b/c ported you have to tune the box and have a cutoff point for a certain FQ. so technically sealed is deeper than ported but ported boxes are louder.
