SS makes great subs. Very install specific, though. Given that, the low end is rediculous. Very strong. The best part about it is how small the company is. Mike is a super guy to work with, and he is always available to answer any specific questions you might have. While I havn't heard a SX, I understand that the sq is lacking. Not the case with the Rl. While it's not up there w/a Brahma or ID in that respect, most daily drivers won't notice a difference. I think it's a great choice for toeing the line between spl and sq. It's not nearly as dry as a Brahma or ID. More of a "wanger."

well i have a box that is 2.5 net cuft already and the RL-p 15 is suppose to be good in that enclosure so should it or a SX 12 and put it in the same box? how would those 2 compare?

i already have the hole cut for 12" but i can obviously make it bigger

I have a SS-RLp15, I have it in a 2.1 sealed box. If you get the right stuff to power it, im sure it will sound awesome. Im waiting to get a new amp to power mine, I currently have a Sony amp powering it, but it sounds fine.
