Hey guys, I'm a newb to the site so wsup to everyone...

After about a year I'm getting ready to finally rebuild my civic. I'm about to start building my custom ported enclosure for my 2 W7's.

I have a honda civic, coupe, 2003. trunk is fully dynamated.

as per the JL specs im giving each rive 1.75 cubes of air...however I need any tips/advice you guys can offer

Should i make one enclosure for both subs or 2 diff enclosures? Should i bother inverting the subs? how much polyfill should i use? Should i give them less air? more air? any and all advise is welcome..let me know what you guys thinks

me personally would give them about 2cuft each sub. tune them to 30-32 hz with more port area then the JL's site box has. id give them atleast 30sq inches of port area each sub. i wouldnt invert them unless your doing some kind of fiberwork. you can do one box or 2. whatever you like. if your doing ported than you dont need polyfil.

those are great subs. im assuming your using 1000/1s to power them? if not what are you using?

Sure am...1000/1 per sub!
I've never made a ported enclosure before so it's a first one for me. JL reccomends a slot port..does it really matter which type I use?

Any tips for tuning?

btw..thanks a lot for the input

no it doesnt really matter, just make sure you have enough port area. atleast 30sq inches per sub i would do. a slot port will be the easiest for a first time ported box. and i already reccomended 30-32 hz tuning.

i don't like the look of an inverted W7, imo, it looks kinda stupid. heres something funny i saw about an inverted W7:

read the caption under the picture, lol

there are others in that "contest" that have inverted W7's as well. click "back to entries" to see them.

It's floating!! lol
but yea..hopefully the rest of my parts will be here by the end of the week, i bought those stinger battery terminals with the voltage meters onboard..lol..im such an idiot but they look tight....I'm still trying to decide whether to make two boxes or one big one...i hope it sounds tight

any idea what size fuse i should run from the alternator to the rear mounted batteries?

well im in the process of doing that...but i haven't decided where to buy it from...I have one guy telling me he can get me 180-200 amps for $250 another guy telling me it's impossible to get more than 130 amps with my type alternator...

I tried posting on the irragi forums asking for a quote but no response yet

Now the one guy who said he can get the 180-200 said i should be ok with a 50amp fuse from the alternator to the battery...which makes no sense to me...i was always told the fuse size should be in accordance to the current limit on the wire....what a mission
