Do you have to have your car turned off when you are competiting? If so, which competitions does it have to be off(or is it all of them), please specify? If your car has to be off, how many batteries would you need for a 3 second burp with 2500w?

I've only been in a couple competitions, but they allowed the car to be on and running up to 2000 rpm

I don't see why the competitions would only let the car be off. That means you'd only get 12V to your amps from your batteries. Don't a lot of amps require 13-14V to get RMS values?

best thing to do is go to http://www.termpro.com/dbdrag/
and look up the rules for the different competition categories.
