whats your car? If your subs are pretty hefty on sound than i'd suggest a good 2way or 3way. I will be putting a 3way in for my car. Keeps the sounds balanced with the sub and i don't lose too much sound when the windows are open.

For now since i have them I'll use a ES-600 run active off one of the Monitor 1 MK2.70 and run a set of HD-4 and drt-25 and tw-24s off a 480 crossover using the other Monitor 1 MK2.70. Depending on the space available in the kick area I may change and move the ES-600 to the kick area and get a set of Tang Band 6.5s in the doors. For placement, like i said the 6.5 in the doors, the 4in in kicks, and the drt-25 tweets will go in the kick and the tw-24s(with a lp-1 remote on it) will be mounted either on the dash, sail panel, or high on the door depending on which one sounds the best when i get it in.

Any suggestions Mike? I've also been looking at Dayton and Vifa tweets or the RS woofers for rear fill. But i need to start installing this soon or atleast putting plans into projects.

generally stick with 2 ways if you're talking component sets.
3 way components are very expensive, difficult to align and install properly with good results, and will always require a fairly beefy amplifier to drive them.

2 ways are far easier to deal with.

ah ok.
I differentiate between 2way/3way and coaxial/triaxial.
3-way to me is like the dynaudio system 360.
3 separate speakers per channel with external XO.

are we talking about components here? passive crossovers and all, or coax with inline resistors?

3way components are nice but take a little more installation to accommodate them. A good two way would work well.

Generally, stick with 2 way coaxials. 3 ways offer nothing beneficial in the coaxial department, you'll get either a crappy midrange driver or an additional tweeter.
